Teen Therapy

The teenage years are a period of significant change and growth. This is the stage of life when individuals start to develop their sense of self, personal identity and slowly move towards becoming an adult.

Teens can often internalise their concerns and can often be moody, this can make it hard for parents to know if their teenager needs professional support. Parents know their children better than anyone else. If your teen is asking for assistance or your gut is telling you something isn’t right, an initial appointment to ‘check-in’ could be very beneficial.

We prioritise building a safe space

We view the relationship between the teen and counsellor to be the most important ingredient for success in therapy. We prioritise building a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space for teens. We aim to help our clients feel better, enhance their wellbeing and nurture the development of valuable skills for life.

If clients are interested, creative art can be included in counselling sessions. Creativity can be a great way for younger clients and adults to express themselves and explore their inner world.

At Insight Centre Counselling we assist teens with emotional regulation, friendship issues, self-confidence, management of stress and anxiety, and life transitions such as starting high-school or transitioning to young adulthood.

We provide family support

We also believe that a young person’s family plays a vital role in their lives. We provide parental support, along with tips and strategies to assist families. This includes resources to help strengthen child and parent relationships, and foster collaborative discussions and planning within families.

Located in Five Dock in Sydney's Inner West, we provide affordable counselling and mental health therapy.
Bookings can be made for in-person sessions, or online sessions Australia-wide via phone or video.
