Grieving a significant loss is a natural human experience. Grief affects every person uniquely and can be a very overwhelming and challenging period for many. Nothing can replace a loved one who’s gone and the emptiness can’t just go away. We can’t rush grief, but we can allow ourselves kindness and compassion during this time.
At Insight Centre Counselling we understand that people can experience profound grief and loss for many reasons. For some, it may be the loss of a loved one or the end of a significant relationship. Loss can sometimes involve a very complicated history, and unexpected emotions may evolve and intensify.
We can experience grief when we lose a job, the loss can affect our sense of identity and purpose. Grief can also occur when we move to another life stage such as transitioning to parenthood or into retirement, our anticipated role in life and our day-to-day experience may not match our expectations. Health issues and physical injuries can also significantly impact our lives, forcing us to face a future we didn’t sign up for. Grief is often described as the loss of an expected future, we grieve the loss of a future that will never happen.
We are dedicated to supporting clients with genuine compassion, understanding and gentle guidance. We prioritise providing a safe space for you to explore your feelings and memories at your own pace. Grief counselling offers clients an opportunity to acknowledge their loss, understand their emotions, find healing and renewed hope. Remember you are not alone in your grief; we are here to help if you’d like some extra support during this period.
